Meet our newest athlete Kennedy Carter! Kennedy is a Junior at University California San Diego and member of the Women's Soccer Team! She first started playing at the age of four and it's been an amazing journey ever since! Along this journey Kennedy has had much success including, Jserra Catholic High School two time CIF Champion, Junior year won 1st Team All League and being on the number 1 team in the nation, as well as being Captain of the UCSD Women's Team! Kennedy committed to play D1 soccer as a Sophomore and achieving this goal took a lot of hard work, and dedication. She was determined and achieved her goals both on and off the field, as she continues living her dream! Apart, from her outstanding soccer awards she also was recognized as a model student in high school, was apart of ASB, and member of the Lion Report as a host which is a school wide TV show! Outside of her soccer career, Kennedy is an environmental systems major with an emphasis in ecology behavior. She wants to go into research with looking into a renewable energy position. When asked what soccer has done for your life, she says, "Soccer has given me an output for my stress and problems and gives me something everyday I get to look forward to. Soccer has been in my life for so long and is one of the only things that has been constant for me and helps me grow in who I am everyday. It has taught me so many lessons and connected me with so many great people and I will always be grateful for it." Her biggest supporter throughout this exciting journey has been her mom. "She never fails to push me in the right direction and help me with whatever I need to succeed. She has been my motivator since I was a little girl and I would be nowhere without her, whether it was braiding my hair to now being at my college games she has been with me through it all." she says. Meet Bido Elmasry, Graduate Student at Ottawa University Arizona and member of the Mens Soccer Team! Bido is originally from Egypt but moved to Baltimore, Maryland when he was 13 years old. He graudated from Shepherd University in West Virginia with a Bachelor of Science where he played two years of NCAA Division II Soccer! He first started playing at the age of eight and has had a very successful career since then. Some of his athletic achievements include, HS All State Team, HS All Region Team, Club Maryland U17 State Championship, Club Maryland U18 State Championship, Club U17 National Championship, Club U18 National Championship, Mountain East Conference All Freshman Team, Mountain East Conference Honorable Mention, Shepherd University Offensive Player Of The Year. Now aside from his several athletic achievements Bido has also earned 4 PSAC All Academic Awards for 3.0 or higher GPA, 6 Dean List Awards, and during his undergrad had a 3.6 GPA. Currently he is attending Ottawa University Arizona where is is working towards earning his MBA and finishing out his soccer career! His plans are then to attend flight school to become a commercial pilot some day. Bido works to put in a tremendous effort on and off the field to achieve his goals both in soccer and career wise! Through this journey he wants to thank his parents for always supporting him, guiding him along the right path, and helping him through all the ups and downs. Bido says, playing soccer has helped him become more disciplined in his life and has given him several different life lessons to becoming a better person on and off the field. Keyan Burnett Freshman tight end at University of Arizona shares his journey of playing football. Football began at the age of 5 for Keyan when he began playing flag under his dads coaching, he then moved into playing tackle football in middle school. Since then he has had a tremendous career with several accomplishments. These include, Defensive Player Of The Year his Freshman year, 1st Team All Trinity League, and 4 Year Varsity Letterman. Outside of football he is also a very promising student with being on the honor roll all throughout middle school and high school. He is also apart of the leadership council for Arizona Football. Keyan is now continuing out his football and academic career at University of Arizona where he plans on helping his team compete and get to a bowl game. Career wise he is majoring in business and is focused on getting into real estate. He plans on investing in real estate in the Tucson area as well as back home in Orange County. Keyan also has an interest in marketing and film production. When asked what football has taught him he said, "Playing football has taught me so much about life in general. Being part of a team has helped me understand how to navigate being part of something bigger than just me. It's taught me about time management and staying true to my goals. It's also taught me that the harder I work, the luckier I get." Wishing Keyan the best of luck in his season at University of Arizona and journey to success!
Marcos Papkostas current goalkeeper for UPSL Premiere Team for the Arizona Arsenal SC Club shares his journey with playing soccer and achieving his goals on and off the field! Marcos is an extremely driven and hard working individual and it has shown throughout his life. Currently he is playing for a Semi Pro Soccer team and continuing to work on his game and achieve his goals of one day playing professionally! Not only does he prioritize his work effort in practice but also during his own time as well. When he isn’t at soccer practice you will catch him at the gym working on his fitness and even improving upon his explosiveness, power, and strength. In addition to this Marcos has always been very career driven as well! Recently he just established his own Personal Training Business called Applying Functional Anatomy! He specializes in training athletes and helping improve their fitness and overall skills for their sport. What separates Marcos from other athletes and players is his passion for the game and his dedication to bettering himself in all aspects. He constantly is pushing himself to do better and be better in anyway he can. When asked what the sport of soccer means to him he says, "Soccer has been a huge part of my life since I was 3 years old. I can't remember life without matches on weekends or training sessions or passing the ball with my brother. Soccer has always been just another part of my life and my family's life. Growing up playing with people from around the world, this sport is more than just a sport, but a culture and a lifestyle. I wish to play at the highest level to be a role model for younger players in the sport, to show them that anything is possible as long as you put in the work for it everyday." Tyler Poltl recent Biola University Track and Field Commit shares his amazing story to greatness as he breaks records and sets high hopes for his future as a track and field star! Tyler first started running Track his Freshman year of high school to help cross train for football, yet immediately after fell in love with the sport and the rest is history! His Track and Field Career has led him to so many accomplishments including Most Valuable Sprinter for Tesoro High School 2022, 11 Fastest Athlete In OC for the 100m, 4th All Time Tesoro 100m History, and 2 Year Track Captain. What sets Tyler apart from other athletes is his mentality before meets. "Mt mentality going into meet days is to envision my races and to run my own race. It's very hard sometimes to focus on other people's times and how they are running at track meets, but I try to stay focused on my performance and what I can control. Before my races I also always like to pray as this is important." Tyler tells us! Along his amazing Track and Field Journey he thanks his family, his girlfriend and her family, and his friends for always sticking by him and supporting him as he would not be the person he is today without them! When asked what Track and Field means to you he tell us, "Track has helped me grow and made me stronger because I have learned to be a leader and teach younger kids and people to help them be better. Track is a very individual sport so it has taught me to be independent and rely on myself for my own success. I cannot rely on others to run fast for me, I need to do it myself." Kashton Henjum wide reciever at Newport Harbor Highschool and recent University of Utah Commit shares his amazing journey with football. Kashton has had a tremendous career so far with all of his consistent hard work he has put in. Some of his accomplishments include, Started Varsity all 4 years, 4x First Time All League, Sunset League Receiver Of The Year, CIF Champ, CIF POTY, 2x Daily Pilot Dream Team, 2x All County, and All Star Game MVP. Kashton also holds every receiving record at Newport Harbor, and his Junior Year he even finished 5th in the nation for receptions. In addition, he has remained on the school honor roll every year as his studies are just as important to him! The most crucial part of sports is your mentality, with Kashton Henjum he makes sure before games he is relaxed which helps him focus for games. With this mentality Kashton has been able to have so much success in his football career. To his success he wants to thank his parents. "They did everything they could to put me in the best position to be successful. Taking me to campus and pushing me to be the best I can be." He says. When asked what football has taught him he tells us, "I don't think there are many things that prepare you for life better than football. Football has taught me the importance of persevering through tough times and how having good friends around you makes life easier." This week we meet Miranda Zakhar recent Biola University Track and Field and Cross Country Commit! Miranda first started her competitive running career her Freshman year of high school! Before entering high school she would take part in 5k runs with her mom and participated in the students run LA. From there on out she Miranda was set to have a tremendous career. Some of her accomplishments include, earning the Titan Award twice for Track and Field, and the Titan Award once for Cross Country, she is currently ranked 11th in California for her 2k steeplechase. Apart from her amazing sports accomplishments Miranda also makes sure to get after it in the classroom as well. She has made the principal and super intendents honor roll for all of high school, and was even valedictorian! She will be continuing her running and academic career at Biola University this fall and is extremely looking forward to it! She will be majoring in Psychology in hopes of one day becoming a sports psychologist or therapist to help other athletes. Some of the biggest supporters in Miranda’s life have been her family and her boyfriend. She thanks her parents for always showing up to every meet, driving her everywhere whenever needed, and supporting her no matter what the outcome is always and being extremely positive! When asked what running track and cross country means to you she says, "running is a tough sport mentally so it helped strengthen that area but it also has helped me physically. As clique as it sounds, it really has helped me know that I can do tough things, or as my momma says, "you can do anything for 15 minutes." As captain I had to lead my team in warmups and all that. It helped me with speaking to large groups of people. I have always struggled with talking in front of people until then." We wish Miranda the best of luck in her first upcoming season at Biola University! And will catch up with her again mid season!
Meet this weeks athlete Soleil Cotton! She is a volleyball player for the University Of Maryland Eastern Shore! She first started her volleyball career her Freshman Year of High School playing for her JV Team. She then worked her way up to Varsity and then began playing club volleyball! Some of Soleils athletic achievements during her career include, Most Improved Player, Scholar Athlete for three consecutive years, and in college she has ranked second on her time in total blocks for her 2022 season! Not only is Soleil a force to be reckoned with on the court but also takes her academics seriously off the court. In high school she was very active on campus, in 2019-2020 she was her schools Girls Athletic Commissioner, and was also elected to be the be the Spirit & Rally Commissioner. Some of her upcoming goals include finishing out her degree in marketing and winning her conference with her team and making it to the NCAA tournament! Along her amazing volleyball and academic journey Soleil has had an amazing support system. She thanks her parents and her family as a whole for always supporting her, helping with traveling expenses, rides, and sticking by her side though this entire journey! When asked what playing volleyball has taught you? Soleil says, “playing volleyball has always been my source of confidence and charisma. Volleyball has helped me learn how to speak up more and become a leader. More importantly being a student athlete has truly helped me learn how to find balance in life and how to manage my time. Playing volleyball has prepared me in so many ways for the real world and has introduced me to so many people that have become lifelong friends.” We are wishing Soleil the best of luck in the upcoming season and rooting for her team to win conference! This week on In It To Win It Sports Broadcasting we have member of the Creighton University Men's Tennis Team Zackary Maline! Zack first began playing tennis at the age of 12 years old, but exclusively started playing at 16. From then on Zack has definitely made a name for himself to say the least. He now is playing at Creighton University located in Nebraska and is a Division 1 Program. He was the Most Improved Player on his college team in 2021, he had 14 Doubles Wins also in the 2021 season, and was also First Team All League for Three Years during his High School Career. In addition, Zack was an ITA Scholar Athlete in 2021 and 2022 and was also an AP Scholar throughout High School. Aside from being a Division 1 Athlete Zack also is the Co Founder for Sailboat Candle Company. This is his own personal company that he founded in April 2023 designing destination themed candles. His success comes from his mindset believing anything in life is achievable through hard work, dedication, and commitment to what you love to do. His ambitions are to be in Forbes 30 For 30 and run multiple businesses of his own, and continue growing as a player at Creighton. Along his tennis and career journey Zack has had some supporters he wants to thank that have helped him along the way. "I want to thank my family and my girlfriend they have been my biggest supporters these past couple of years. I could not have achieved anything in college without them supporting and guiding me to the best of their abilities." Zack continues to push himself as a player and in business and remains dedicated to his craft. He stands out from others because of his grind and determination to be the best, " I like to grind others down. If I need to be on the court for 10 hours to win, that’s what I will do. This is how I stand out from others, my patience and intelligence on the court." Zack tells us. We wish him the best of luck in his upcoming season at Creighton and his future business endeavors.
This week on In It To Win It Sports Broadcasting we have University Of Michigan Volleyball Commit Cymarah! Cymarah first started playing volleyball only about four years ago, at Momentous Volleyball Club for the 13s team. Since then Cymarah has had a tremendously successfull career to say the least along with her committment to a Big Ten School! She currently is a senior at Mater Dei High School where they have been ranked number one in the nation multiple times, the team recently competed in Texa's Volleypalooza Tournament and came in first, at that very same tournament she was named all tournament team. In addition, Cymarah also has even been asked to join the USA Volleyball's NTDP Program! After, she graduates high school Cymarah will then go on to pursue her volleyball career at The University Of Michigan where she will study business in hopes of working in the real estate industry or trading and investing. Along this journey Cymarah wants to thank her biggest supporter her mom. "My biggest supporter is my mom. She has devoted so much time into my athletic career so far, from showing up to every single game to helping me make hard college decisions. Ultimately she lets me decide what would be best for me, but having a second opinion and a presence like hers makes me feel confident and secure in my choices." She tells us. When asked what volleyball has taught you Cymarah tells us, "Playing volleyball has helped me grow as a person because it teaches you social skills, uplifting a teammate or articulating your feelings is something you will need to learn in the real world. Just being an athlete in general, has taught me so much when it comes to time management, and remaining strong minded." Cymarah is a very dedicated, smart, and positive player and we wish her the absolute best during her next adventure at The University Of Michigan!

Kyara first started wrestling when she was in eighth grade and since then has had a very successful career! She was the First Female Wrestler in her high school's history, First 4x Varsity Female Wrestler, First Regional Placer, First State Qualifier, First State Placer, First 3x State Placer (M&F), First NJAC Champ, First Ever NJAC OW @120, First Regional Champ, First Female Wrestling Commit, First Captain, 2nd Most Pins in program history, Rookie Of The Year, Outstanding Wrestling Award Recipient, the "Monty" Award (outstanding wrestler award presented to female wrestlers for Morris Hills Highschool was named after her), Captain Award Recipient, Most Pins Award Recipient, Mayors Award Recipient, National Female Athlete Award 2x Recipient, All Star Wrestler, and NJ National Team Member. Kyara has been setting records and making a name for herself since day one and continues to do so. She is also a scholar athlete, member of the Hope Club, Key Club, LGBTQ Club, and Wrestling Coach, and Varsity Club at her high school. Kyara is now continuing her amazing wrestling career at Ursinus College located in Pennsylvania where she will continue to improve and strive to be the best competitor and athlete she can be.. She has achieved all of her goals by her strong mindset. "I’ve always been very disciplined and consistent with my goals, my discipline sets me apart from the rest as I continue to strive for my goals." She tells us. In addition, along this journey Kyara has had many people supporting her and always sticking by her side. "My biggest supporters are my family and closest friends. As well as my coaches and teachers who do everything in their ability to help me push forward. My support group keeps me going and have given me the tools to progress in life. Throughout my athletic career they have all allowed me to grow through them, teaching me lessons and helping me achieve my goals." Kyara tells us. With her dedication and support from friends and family, it has led to Kyara continuing her wrestling career in college and is a Pre Med Student majoring in Biology with hopes of going into Anesthesiology. When asked what wrestling has taught you she tells us, "Wrestling has made me who I am today. It has given me the strength to grow and through the sport I have built upon my work ethic and grown as an individual. Wrestling is an outlet for me, no matter what changes or how twisted life gets I can always depend on wrestling to keep me going. Without this sport I would not be the person I am today, as it has shaped my morals and allowed me to branch out. Always be defensive. Score the next point, never back down. Continue pushing forward and never let a point get past you. While wrestling allowing yourself to feel the flow and dance is as good as it gets. Taking every match as my last and enjoying every moment." We wish Kyara the best of luck in her first season at Ursinus College and to her exciting Pre - Med Career! Go Bears!
This week on In It To Win It Sports Broadcasting we have midfielder for the men's soccer team at University Of Texas Rio Grande Valley Tinashe Simbo! Tinashe first started playing soccer when he was just five years old, and since then his career has simply just taken off! Some of his athletic achievements from college include, "Freshman of The Year Award Recipient for 2021, NCAA All American, NAIA Honorable Mention 2x, GSAC All Conference Award Recipient 2x, and All Region Award Recipient 2x. He was also named Captain for his first college's team Ottawa University Arizona! His long term goals are to become a professional soccer player after college! Short term goals are to win the WAC Conference and National Championship with UTRGV. Outside of soccer Tinashe is extremely interested in becoming a sociologist, as he is someone that is very good at talking to people and enjoys helping others and giving advice. Along his athletic and academic journey Tinashe has always had his mom by his side supporting him. She has continued to push him to be a better player and man and he appreciates the continue support he has from her to this day. WHen asked what playing soccer has taught you he tells us, "Playing soccer has made me grow a lot as a person. Being around people who come from different places and backgrounds helped me gain some social skills. Mentally, it's always tough and sometimes you ask yourself if you are doing the right thing or not. All the tough things made me resiliant because knowing what I want for myself and my family, I wouldn't give up." Tinashe continues to constantly be pushing himself to be a better player and person on and off the field and is continuously working on achieving his goals! We are wishing him the best of luck during his season, and with his continuous soccer career!
This week on In It To Win It Sports Broadcasting we have San Diego State Mens Tennis Player Liam Spiers! Liam's tennis journey originally began in Calgary Alberta Canada, where he got into playing because his dad was an elite level player who then became a coach. Both his parents run the Aforza Tennis Academy, and this is where Liam spent his time training and improving his game in order to reach that next level of competitive play. He has had a tremendous journey to say the least before even entering his college years. Liam is currently ranked 35th in Canada and #1 in the province of Alberta, currently holds a UTR rating of 11.40, Won U18 Alberta at Junior Canadian Nationals for both U16's and U18's reached the round of 16 for singles in August of 2018 for U16 Nationals, and completed his junior career as the highest ranked U18 player in Alberta. He spent his first year of college at Ottawa University Arizona where he was the GSAC All Conference Title Holder in 2022, named NAIA West Region Rookie Of The Year in 2022, and was undefeated in all his conference matches. Now Liam has gone on to play Division 1 tennis at San Diego State University! His long term goals for his tennis game are to earn a professional ranking and ultimately be competing on the pro tour. During this amazing journey Liam has had his parents as his biggest supporters always by his side, "They have spent countless hours traveling with me to competitions, watching matches, investing a lot both emotionally and financially into my tennis and I can definitely say I wouldn't be where I am without their help he tells us." Apart, from being apart of the SDSU Tennis Program Liam is majoring in Business Administrations, after school he intends on becoming a coach and has high interest in taking the business of his parents academy once they retire as well. He constantly wants to keep tennis in his life forever, and go on to coach others as well. His love and passion for the game can be seen both on and off the court and he is always looking to compete and simply become the best player and person he can be.
